Maureen is the heart and soul of The Homestead. As the owner, she pours her love for dogs into every aspect of her work. From cleaning to walking to snuggling, Maureen spends every moment of her day ensuring that the dogs in her care are happy and healthy. She has competed in rally obedience as well as field work training with her golden retrievers, Georgia and Jasper. She combines this with her 15+ years of classroom experience to inform her approach to dog daycare. She is committed to providing a positive experience for the dogs and their owners through trust and communication.
STUART MCFARLANE
Owner
He is the man behind the scenes who is the driving force behind the constant upgrades to the facilities at the Homestead. His work around the property ensures that the dogs are safe and happy . When he's not outside working on projects, he's busy with his other full-time job and enjoying the Collingwood lifestyle which includes his passion for coaching skiing on weekends and boating on Georgian Bay.
KOREY WIEST
Homestead Manager - Volunteer
The Homestead Nottawa would not be the same without our Homestead Manager, Korey. Along with her black labs, Kaiya and Cleo, Korey makes sure everything runs smoothly at The Homestead from training employees to navigating our booking software. She brings an innovative approach to finding solutions for everything dog related. With her passion for animals and problem solving, Korey brings a unique perspective to her work. Her attention to detail and dedication make her an invaluable member of our team.
KAMRYN WIEST
Lead Homestead Attendant
As our Lead Homestead Attendant, you will meet Kamryn on most morning drop-offs as she welcomes both you and your dog with her bright smile and outgoing personality. She recently adopted two rescues , Blue and Buddy, who were previous guests at The Homestead. Kamryn's background in Interior Decorating from Georgian College brings a fresh perspective to her role. She gained valuable experience and a deep appreciation for animals while volunteering at the Georgian Triangle Humane Society. Kamryn's dedication to her work is evident in everything she does. MICHELLE BAGELMAN
Client Service Representative
Along with her dog, Chewy, Michelle is the face of our Meet & Greets and all of our customer communications! She is passionate about helping both dogs and people. If you have a specific request or concern, she will do her best to find a solution. Her holistic approach as a certified dog massage therapist and skills as a Reiki Teacher and Master, create a calm and positive vibe around The Homestead. This approach also incorporates her knowledge of fitness from her extensive background in dance, competitive gymnastics, and soccer.

When Michelle isn't at The Homestead Nottawa, she provides overnight boarding at her home for pets that need more specialized attention or care. We regularly refer guests that are not yet ready for the cage-free social setting at The Homestead Nottawa to Duntroon Dogs.

Introducing Katie Knowles, the newest groomer at The Homestead Nottawa! Katie brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for delivering top-notch grooming services. After training under a master groomer in Toronto, she developed exceptional skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring every dog leaves looking and feeling their best. Katie’s gentle, patient approach creates a calming experience for her furry clients, making even the most nervous pups feel at ease.
When she’s not grooming, Katie enjoys spending time with her own furry family, Howard, Callie and Beanie. Whether exploring the escarpment trails or strolling through downtown Collingwood, Katie’s love for animals shines in every aspect of her life.

Meet Amy, our newest collaborator as The Homestead’s editor. Amy is a freelance editor and owner of Eye for Editing. She combines her education, her 25+ year administrative career, and her passion for meaningful messaging to provide exceptional service to her clients. Amy lives in Collingwood with her husband, her cat Frannie, and her mini-golden doodle Levy, who is a long-time guest at The Homestead and the reason we connected with her! We are thrilled to be partnering with her on our continued efforts to communicate well with our clients.
CANINE ATTENDANTS
Meet our young dedicated canine attendants at The Homestead. With their love for dogs they ensure that every pup has a tail-wagging experience during their stay.
